Ponguleti demands probe into Singareni’s tenders

Hyderabad, July 18 (INN): Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Monday demanded probe into the alleged irregularities in the tenders called by Singareni Collieries, Kothagudem.

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises, Ponguleti informed that he has written a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao stating that the Singareni Collieries management has called for tenders for extracting 40.50 Million Tons of coal from PVK-5 Incline Mine, worth of Rs. 500 crores. He alleged that the authorities have violated the Tender norms to favour Joy Company of Australia.

Ponguleti alleged that the authorities have favoured Joy Company while neglecting two other firms, Caterpillar and Soundvick. He said that the other two firms too have vast experience in supplying machinery to extract Incline Mines. In his letter, Ponguleti urged the Chief Minister to order a detailed enquiry in the entire episode, cancel the present tender and call for fresh global tenders. He said that the PVK-5 Incline Mining tender should be accorded only to experienced and eligible companies. He also demanded action against those involved in alleged irregularities. (INN)
