Hyderabad, July 14 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Vice-President Dr. N. Tulasi Reddy has demanded that the State Government make fool-proof arrangements for the Krishna Pushkaralu beginning from August 12.
Speaking to media persons at Indira Bhavan here on Thursday, Tulasi Reddy said that the government should make arrangements keeping in view the tragedy that occurred last year which claimed 29 lives. He said all elaborate arrangements should be made for the pilgrims and all precautionary steps should be taken. He said that the authorities should ensure that the VIPs’ movement does not affect the pilgrims.
The Congress leader also urged Speakers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Legislative Assemblies, Dr. Kodela Siva Prasad Rao and S. Madhusudan Chary respectively, to dispose off Disqualification Petitions submitted against the legislators who defected to ruling parties at the earliest. He said that the Speakers should discharge their duties as per the law. Citing the judgment of Supreme Court in the case of Arunachal Pradesh, he said that the Speakers should act before the Apex Court takes a serious note of defections in both Telugu States. (INN)
