Telangana Regatta: A day of mixed fortunes for most of the sailors

Hyderabad, July 12: 4 races were sailed in the morning session in mixed conditions with low winds of 6 knots to highs of 18 knots and the course was a true test of sailing skills.

Harshita Tomar of Madhya Pradesh survived a close disqualification in 4 races yesterday as the race committee protested her sail and her positions of three wins was reinstated.

Harshita continues to lead the fleet un abated with a few bad races but still with a significant lead to bag the Gold in the Open and Chitresh Thata faced a few challenges but is headed for silver unless there is a dramatic change of fortunes at the last three races tomorrow. Harshita is in any case certain of Gold in the girls fleet.

In the State fleet Durga Prasad of Udhbava High School Rasoolpura is headed for gold with a 10 point lead over Juhi Desai of DPS. Juhi Desai , the sister of Tanishq Desai who won the Telangana Junior Championship is headed for Silver and it will make a brother sister pair to hit metal in the Telangana State Regatta
