10th class student commits suicide

Hyderabad, May 12 (INN): Failure to clear 10th class exams drove a 16-year-old boy to suicide.

The deceased, K. Anil, resorted to extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Rajiv Gruha Kalpa in Jagatgirigutta police limits on Wednesday night. He took the extreme step following failure in 10th class exams whose results were announced yesterday.

Four killed, 5 injured in road mishap at Shamshabad

Four persons were killed on the spot and five others sustained injuries when a lorry rammed into a parked lorry at Shamshabad crossroads on Thursday morning.

According to RGIA Police, a speeding lorry of Karnataka, coming from Anantapur hit another parked lorry of Tamil Nadu at Shamshabad crossroad. Lorry cleaner M. Srinivas (55) and two passengers G. Somashekar (38) and Avulla Chinnamarappa (46) and another passer-by Shaik Abdul Nazim (32) were killed on the spot. Srinivas hailed from Agolagora of Karnataka State while two passengers were from Atmakur. Another victim, Nazim, a fruit vendor, was the resident of Talab Katta in the Old City.

Five other persons suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment, according to RGIA Inspector T. Sudhakar.

Jobless man commits suicide

A 28-year-old man committed suicide after his wife reportedly refused to give him money to consume liquor.

According to Neredmet police, the deceased, S. Balasadan, was jobless and a habitual drunkard. On Wednesday night, he asked his wife to give money to consume liquor. On refusal, he resorted to the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Ramakrishnapura.

Two B. Tech students killed in road accidents

A 19-year-old boy died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a RTC bus in Balanagar police limits.

The accident occurred near IDPL Gate on Wednesday night. The deceased was later identified as R. Kevin Kumar, a B. Tech second year student and resident of Jagatgirigutta.

In another case, M. Ajay Kumar, 23, of Malkajgiri, succumbed to the injuries which he had sustained on May 7 when the bike he was riding, along with his friend Teja Kiran, lost control and hit a Metro Rail pillar in Gopalapuram police limits. Both Ajay and Kiran were admitted to the Gandhi Hospital where the former died on Wednesday night. He was a B. Tech student. (INN)
