Venkaiah Naidu inaugurates modern crematorium “Maha Prasthanam”

Hyderabad, March 30 (INN): Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the GHMC’s modern crematorium “Maha Prasthanam” near Whisper Valley in Jubilee Hills here on Monday.

The crematorium has been established at a cost of Rs 3 crore by the Phoenix Foundation under “Fund Your City” programme initiated by the GHMC. Venkaiah Naidu praised the GHMC and Phoenix Foundation for setting up the modern crematorium with all facilities.

Telangana Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy, Lok Sabha MP Vishweshwar Reddy, MLA Arikepudi Gandhi, Phoenix Foundation Chairman Suresh Chukkapally, GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Somesh Kumar and other senior official were also present on the occasion.

Somesh Kumar informed that the GHMC is planning to come up with 50 such modernized crematoriums in the city and the tender process has already been initiated.
