AP CS wants fast tracking of stalled projects

Hyderabad, Feb 5 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao has conducted a review meeting along with Dr. V.P. Roy, Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi, in connection with fast tracking of the stalled projects by Cabinet Committee of Investment (CCI) Project Monitoring Group, today at 4 pm in his chambers.

The Projects of Petroleum and Natural Gas sector were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Secretary has directed the concerned officers for acquisition of land to the railway line from Obulavaripalle to Venkatachalam Port on priority, which leads to be connected to Mumbai to Chhennai and Kolkata.

Laying underground Natural Gas pipeline across in Andhra Pradesh was also discussed in the meeting.

Secretaries of AP Government S.S. Rawat (Industries), Aditya N Das (Irrigation), Ajay Jain (Energy), Principal Secretary of Revenue J.C. Sharma and other concerned participated in the meeting. (INN)

The Chief Secretary on Thursday held another meeting with the officials of Transport, Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj, School Education, Roads and Buildings Department on ‘Road Safety’.

The Road Safety measures were reviewed in the meeting by the Chief Secretary and he also directed the concerned to prepare an action plan ensuring that the road accidents are to be prevented. Culture of safety has also to be introduced, he said.

Consequent on occurrence of series of accidents about couple of days back the issue was discussed in detail in the Video conference with all the District Collectors. The District Collectors were asked to take necessary action as required, involving all the Departments to promote the concept of Road Safety and also do the necessary preventive action to prevent accidents.

There were a series of other accidents that occurred today, accordingly in today’s meeting with all the officers it was reiterated that the issues taken on priority and attended to by all the Departments and next week visible Road Safety campaign should be organized involving the colleges and schools, educating the people at large, on Road Safety measures. All the Dist. Collectors are requested to hold the Road safety Authority meetings immediately.

Proper videos on Road Safety can also prepare and screened on the local cable network and Cinema Theatres. Safety videos prepared by the District Level Road Safety Authority/State Level Authority will also be circulated for screening in the schools. Road Safety can form part of the Syllabus at school level and Road Safety principles may also be printed on the back pages of all the text books.
