TS cabinet gives nod for new Secretariat at Erragadda

Hyderabad, Jan 30 (INN): The State cabinet on Friday gave nod for the construction of new Secretariat for Telangana State.

Briefing the media persons after the marathon cabinet meeting, which lasted for over seven hours, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao informed that the cabinet has agreed to construct new Secretariat building at Erragadda by shifting the existing TB & Chest Hospital to Viqarabad. An amount of Rs 150 crore has been sanctioned for the purpose. The Chief Minister informed that the offices of all Heads of the Departments would also be shifted to the new premises. The existing hospital would be shifted in the next few days and works on new Secretariat would begin soon.

The State cabinet has also decided to clear fee reimbursement dues of Rs 862 crore. KCR said that the previous government did not clear the fee reimbursement dues for four years and Telangana Government inherited them.

The Telangana cabinet has also given its nod for giving a donation of Rs 5 crore to Tirupati Tirmula Devasthanam as a thanksgiving for formation of Telangana. Similarly, Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for construction of Hyderabad House in Ajmer in Rajasthan for the benefit of pilgrims visiting the Dargah of Hazarth Khaja Ghareeb Nawaz. The Wakf Board has been sanctioned Rs 2.50 lakh for preparation of a ‘Chader’ which the Chief Minister himself will present at Ajmer Dargah.

KCR also announced that the cabinet has okayed Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation and a Police Commissionerate at Warangal.

The other major decisions include modernisation of Rythu Bazars and fish markets across the State by raising their height by three feet. He informed that about 1.77 lakh applications have been received for regularisation of dwellings under GO 58. Further, the government has modified GO 59 providing 25% concession and installment facility for regularisation in other categories.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Ministers Etala Rajender, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav were also present.
