Three women commit suicide

Hyderabad, Sept 7 (INN): In separate cases, five women committed suicide due to different reasons.

In Saroornagar police limits, 24-year-old V Sailaja succumbed to the burn injuries which she suffered after setting herself ablaze. Enquiries by the police revealed that Sailaja was allegedly having live-in-relationship with one Ashok of Mallareddy Nagar Colony of Karman Ghat.

On September 2, she received a call from another girl Sapna who claimed to be the fiancée of Ashok. She allegedly rebuked Sailaja for staying with Ashok. Felt insulted, she had set herself ablaze. She was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital where she died on Sunday.

In another case, Kiran Devi, 22, committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at her residence in Chacha Nehru Nagar. According to Gandhi Nagar police, Kiran had an argument with her husband Eshwar Dayal on some trivial issue on Saturday. She poured kerosene and set herself ablaze. She was immediately rushed to the Gandhi Hospital where she died a few hours after admission.

In a different incident, financial problems drove 30-year-old Sultana Begum to suicide. She took the extreme step by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Chintalmet on Saturday night, Rajendranagar police said.

Ill-health drives two housewives to suicide

Hyderabad, Sept 7: In different cases, two housewives committed suicide allegedly due to ill-health.

According to Viqarabad police, 30-year-old R Rajitha, attempted suicide by setting herself at her residence on Saturday. She was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where she succumbed late in the evening. She was allegedly suffering from stomach pain for the last two years.

In the second case, 26-year-old Asiya Begum resorted to the extreme step allegedly due to the kidney ailment she was suffering from. She had attempted suicide by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Deenbandhu Colony of Jagatgirigutta on September 2. However, she was rescued by her relatives and was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital where she died on Saturday, according to Kukatpally police.

Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run case

Hyderabad, Sept 7: A 45-year-old pedestrian suffered grievous injuries after he was hit and run by an unidentified vehicle in Narayanguda police limits.

The accident occurred near Street No 9 of Himayat Nagar on Saturday night. The victim was immediately rushed to the Gandhi Hospital where he was declared dead on admission. He was later identified as A Srikanth, an employee of a private firm and resident of Almasguda of Saroornagar.

Man found unconscious dies at hospital

Hyderabad, Sept 7: A 33-year-old man, who was found lying unconscious near a wine shop, died at the Gandhi Hospital.

According to Pet Basheerabad, the deceased, Venkatesh, was found unconscious near Manjula Wines in Kompally area on September 5. He was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital where he died on Saturday evening. Police began investigation after registering a case of suspicious death. He was a resident of Prashant Nagar in Langar Houz and an employee of a private firm.

Police begin probe into girl’s suicide

Hyderabad, Sept 7: The Ramgopalpet police has begun investigation into the alleged suicide of an 18-year-old girl.

The girl’s body was retrieved from the Hussainsagar police on September 5. However, she was identified only on Sunday as Joyita, a resident of Barkatpura. Preliminary investigation by the police revealed that a few minutes before Joyita committed suicide, she was shopping in Big Bazaar. Police has reportedly seen the entire video footage recorded by the CCTV cameras of the shopping mall.

Joyita collected items worth nearly Rs 4,500/- But, she left the items at the counter and left the shopping mall in a hurry. She engaged an auto-rickshaw to leave the place.

Police is now probing as to what could have led her to resort to the extreme steps in such a short duration. Further investigations in the case are still on.
