Bill on 12% ST reservation soon: TRS MLC

Hyderabad, Aug 30 (INN): TRS MLC Ramulu Naik on Saturday informed that the TRS Government would soon introduced a Bill in the State Legislative Assembly to provide 12 per cent reservation for Scheduled Tribes in the Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan here, Ramulu Naik said that the TRS Government was firm on its commitment towards the welfare of STs. Stating that STs have played a major role in the victory of TRS in the recent elections, he said that the government would take all steps for the socio-economic and educational development of the community. He said that the government would soon bring a legislation to provide 12% reservation to STs in government jobs and education.

Ramulu Naik also said that the TRS would engage all its resources to retain the Medak Lok Sabha seat in the by-elections to be held on September 13.
