VHR demands interactive session with Cong workers

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (INN): Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Friday demanded that the Congress High Command direct TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah to conduct an interactive session with workers to hear their grievances.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, VHR said that he has written a letter to AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh requesting him to convene a meeting of active workers before the TPCC’s proposed workshop on August 24 and 25th. He said it would be inappropriate to conduct the workshop without listening to the grievances of active workers. He alleged that the party cadre was upset with the ministers and other leaders who held top posts in the government. That was the why reasons why the cadre did not work actively during the elections.

VHR said that he had given this suggestion to the TPCC chief, but the latter did not act on it.
