VHR demands re-constitution of TPCC

Hyderabad, July 19 : Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Saturday demanded that the Congress High Command revive the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on immediate basis.

Speaking to media persons here, VHR said that the Congress should reconstitute all the bodies of TPCC and instead of High Command issuing directions from New Delhi, some senior leaders should stay in Hyderabad for a few days. He said that the High Command should appoint office bearers based on the feedback taken from the Congress workers. He said that the Congress should do an in-depth introspection of what went wrong in Telangana in the last elections. Else, he feared that Telangana would become another Tamil Nadu for the Congress party.

VHR said that several senior leaders including himself were not invited for the TPCC Executive Committee meeting held on July 17. He said that the Congress High Command must take immediate steps to revive the party in Telangana State.

He also demanded the arrest of journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik for meeting Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed in Pakistan. He said Vaidik belongs to RSS and Sangh Parivar and is closely associated with Baba Ramdev. He said that the RSS would have branded any Congress leader as terrorist if he would have met Hafez Saeed. However, it is silent on Vaidik’s meeting with Hafez Sayeed.     INN
