No statistics on workers stranded in Iraq: Dy CM

Hyderabad, June 18 : Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali informed that the Telangana Government was making all efforts for the safe return of workers and pilgrims from the State from the violence-hit Iraq.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Mahmood Ali said the government has no statistics on the number of migrant workers and pilgrims stranded in Iraq. However, he said that the State Government officials were in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs and Iraq Embassy to ensure safe evacuation of workers and pilgrims hailing from Telangana region. He said that a helpline has also been set up in the State Secretariat to help the families of those stranded in Iraq.  INN
