VHR asks KCR to review land allotments to Seemandhra businessmen

Hyderabad, May 30 : Rajya Sabha member and Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao on Friday demanded a detailed review on the allotment of government land on the outskirts of Hyderabad to Seemandhra businessmen.

Speaking to media persons here, VHR said that huge chunks of government were allotted to the businessmen hailing from Seemandhra region in violation of the norms. He alleged that hundreds of acres of government and Wakf land have also been encroached upon by a few Seemandhra businessmen. He alleged that former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal have acquired several acres of government and Wakf land for his projects in Hyderabad and its surroundings.

VHR demanded that Telagana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao should order a review of all such allotments after assuming charge as the Chief Minister of Telangana. He said that the land which was allotted in violation of norms should be taken back.

He also opposed the proposal to rename Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad after late N T Rama Rao. He said Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the country and removing his name would be an insult to his stature and sacrifices. He alleged that TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu got the Civil Aviation portfolio from the NDA Government primarily to rename the airport.

VHR said that the Congress party would extend full support to TRS Government for the development of Telangana. However, the Congress would oppose everything that goes against the interest of Telangana.  INN
