TDP will be wiped out from Telangana: Ponguleti

Hyderabad, March 11 : Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Tuesday predicted a rout for Telugu Desam Party from Telangana region in the ensuing general elections to the Assembly and Lok Sabha.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Ponguleti said that the TDP would not win a single seat from Telangana region in the next elections. Welcoming the announcement made by Union Minister Jairam Ramesh of making a Dalit leader the first Chief Minister of Telangana, he ridiculed the promise of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu of giving the CM’s post to Backward Classes. He said that Naidu’s promise was aimed at luring the BC voters to ensure survival of his party.

Ponguleti said that only Congress party could ensure social justice for BCs, minorities, Dalits and other backward sections of the society. He expressed confidence that the Congress workers would ensure the party’s victory in Telangana region.

He also requested the Congress High Command to nominate a local leader from Khammam Lok Sabha seat.

Ponguleti also condemned the criticism on AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. He alleged that there was no development in Gujarat and Modi was trying to take credit for the hard work done by Gujaratis on individual basis.   INN
