GHMC demolishes 24 structures for road widening

Hyderabad, Dec 12 : The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Thursday demolished 24 structures out of 93 identified structures for road widening and Road No. 13, Banjara Hills.

According to GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, the Road No. 13 is a connecting road between road no. 1 & 12 of Banjara Hills and the proposed road will be of 60 feet, the Commissioner said. He also said that 20 structures have been acquired by Land Acquisition process and other 4 properties were negotiated for building permission. The remaining structures will also be acquired under Land Acquisition and demolitions will be taken up in a phased manner.

D Ronald Rose, Additional Commissioner (Planning), has personally monitored the demolition programme and Suryakala, Land Acquisition Officer, Khaleed Sarwar, City Planner, Central Zone, Venkata Ramana, Executive Engineer (Projects) and other senior officials have participated in the road widening demolitions.
