APNGOs asks CPI to withdraw T-support

Hyderabad, Dec 1 : APNGOs Union President G Ashok Babu on Sunday appealed to the Communist Party of India (CPI) to withdraw its support to the separate Telangana.

Speaking to reporters after meeting CPI Secretary K Narayana here, Ashok Babu said that he has appealed to the CPI to oppose Telangana Bill in the State Legislative Assembly and Parliament. He said that the Centre was going ahead with the bifurcation of the State while ignoring the sentiments of crores of people of Seemandhra region. Therefore, in the interest of justice for Seemandhra people, the CPI should oppose the division of the State.

However, the CPI Secretary rejected the appeal and said that his party has already announced its support for the Telangana State. However, he said that the CPI would respect the sentiments of Seemandhra people and would ensure that they were not met with injustice.

He also accused the leaders of other political parties of adopting a dual stand on Telangana issue. He said that the leaders should be subjected to Narco test to know their real stand on Telangana issue. INN
