Jagan postpones Samaikhya Sankharavam to tour cyclone hit areas

Hyderabad, Nov 23 : The Samikhya Sankharavam Yatra to mobilize public opinion against the division of the State will begin from November 30 as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would tour the cyclone affected areas on November 26 and 27.

“The Samaikhya Sankharavam was originally scheduled for November 28 but is deferred as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would be visiting the cyclone hit areas to console the affected people. The State Government is indifferent and governance has come to a standstill in the state,” party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here on Saturday.

YSR Congress is always with the people and has been voice of the people. The Congress Government priorities are different and it is always away from the people.

The programme of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has to be reshuffled as the magnitude of disaster that the cyclone Helen has left behind is huge and YSR Congress is always in the forefront in reaching out to the people who are in distress. “Our party president will the tour the affected areas for two days and will take up the Samaikhya Sankharavam Bus Yatra from November 30,’ he said.

YSR Congress is the only Party which has clarity on its stand on the State division and our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is personally meeting national leaders to muster support for a united State. He has met leaders of CPI, CPM, BJP and JD (U) besides President Pranab Mukherjee. He will visit Bhubaneswar and Mumbai on November 24 and 25. This will be followed by the tour to cyclone hit areas and then he will begin the Samaikhya Sankharavam Yatra, Ramachandra Rao said.

“The hectic activity of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy meeting national leaders and embarking on a statewide tour has scared the TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu and other state leaders. While Congress and TDP have no clarity, YSRCP has been pursuing its agenda of fighting for a united state and the mass contact programme will give the desired results,” he said.

Training his guns on Chandrababu Naidu, he said,” of late the TDP leader’s remarks lack sanity. His claim that he has developed Hyderabad and he was responsible for the growth of IT industry is a fallacy. The IT industry during his term was on the slide and many units were shifted to Bangalore while he was the chief minister.

The gap between Bangalore and Hyderabad in IT and ITES has increased during his term. While Bangalore’s contribution was 35 per cent of national average on ITES, Hyderabad earnings were just 9 per cent during Naidu’s term. The figure increased to 14 per cent after YSR took over as he could balance development and welfare, Rao said. INN
