Mayor seeks report on sewerage over flows

Hyderabad, Nov 21 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain has directed the Engineer in Chief to submit the circle wise proposals to arrest the perennial water leakages and sewerage over flows on the main roads to the next Standing Committee for issuing administrative sanctions.

The Mayor held a coordination meeting with Nampally MLA Virasat Rasool Khan, TDP GHMC floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy, Incharge GHMC Commissioner Navin Mittal, HMWS&SB MD Syamala Rao and officials of the GHMC and Water Works in his chambers on Thursday. He said that the HMWS&SB officials have submitted a tentative expenditure of Rs. 1355.90 lakhs for executing 28 such works and directed the Engineer-in-Chief to take up the issue on war footing basis.

The Mayor directed the Chief General Managers and General Managers of HMWS&SB to attend the circle level meetings which will be held on last Tuesdays and Wednesdays of every month in order to sort out the day to day road cutting coordinations and Corporators budgetary issues, in which the issues can be settled on the spot. He further directed the Director, Operations of HMWS&SB to monitor the minutes of such meetings for speedy execution of the proposed works. H.W.Mayor opined that only good coordination between both the departments will derive good results.

Majid Hussain directed the officials of GHMC to develop a Process Sheet to include all the details from various stages such as the proposal by Corporators, estimations prepared by HMWS&SB, accordance of administrative sanction and grounding of the work, which can facilitate the easy monitoring of the works.
