COP-12 Korean team meets CM, seeks guidance

Hyderabad, Nov 14 : A high level delegation from the Republic of Korea on Thursday called on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat to seek his guidance and discuss on the conducting of COP-12 in the city of Pyeong Chang, Korea from 29th September to 17th October, 2014.

The delegation congratulated the Chief Minister and the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the successful conduct of COP-11 at Hyderabad which won acclaim from all over the world. They said they would not only replicate the success of Government of Andhra Pradesh but also would try to do better. They said they were happy and satisfied with the greenery and infrastructure facilities available at Hyderabad. They sought the guidance and support from the Chief Minister in the conduct of the COP-12. They said about 15,000 delegates are likely to attend the 12th global bio-diversity conference and the Korean City of Pyeong Chang is developing all the greenery and infrastructure required for the event. They told the Chief Minister all the international delegates were very happy about the arrangements at the COP-11.

The delegation also called on Chief Secretary Dr P K Mohanty and other officials connected with the COP-11 and discussed with them the requirements for the successful conduct of the event. The delegation consisted of Director General, Bureau of Green Resources KIM Dug-Lae, Deputy Mayor Roh Jaesoo, Head of Support Group of Gangwon of CBD/COP-12 Ham Young Hee and Planning team Manager of the Support Group of CBD/COP-12 Lee Shihan.

AP Biodiversity Board Chairman Dr Hampaiah, Member-Secretary Dr Jadhav, Expert Member/Liaison Officer Dr S Ravinder and other delegates from the Republic of Korea were also present. INN
