State for prompt transfer of LPG subsidy

Hyderabad, Oct 28 : Reviewing the progress under the Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG Consumers here on Monday at the State Secretariat, Finance Department Principal Secretary Dr PV Ramesh urged oil companies, Civil Supplies Department and banks to work in emission to ensure that the cash benefit in the Scheme reach the customers in time by avoiding the prevailing confusion among the public.

Dr Ramesh stressed the need to keep all the customers fully informed about the market price of the gas cylinder and the actual amount of the subsidy amount which is provided by the government. The Principal Secretary also said that the customer should receive mobile SMS about the cylinder price and details of reimbursement of subsidy amount to his account periodically. He also suggested to have a single online grievance disposal system for the benefit of the customers.

The Principal Secretary further said that the gas customers should be kept continuously and periodically informed about the changes in the cylinder cost and subsidy given, since market price of a gas cylinder may change frequently. The present market price of a cylinder in this month is Rs 1096 and the actual subsidy amount is Rs.626.95, he informed. He further said that the State Government is acting as a facilitator to ensure that all the customers in the State to receive the subsidy amount regularly in the Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG.

Dr Ramesh also informed that a State-Level Video Conference and Regional workshops would be conducted with the district collectors and other concerned officials on this scheme to ensure better implementation at the field level. He also requested the gas customers to dial *99# through Tata Docomo and BSNL mobiles to find out whether their account number is registered with the National Payment Corporation.

The concerned authorities informed that the other mobiles like Idea, Airtel would also extend this facility soon. Civil Supplies Director Ravibabu, V.B. Bhagavathi, General Manager, M.B.
