Sharmila Bus Yatra from Sept. 2

Hyderabad, August 30 : YSRCP leader Sharmila would undertake a Bus Yatra from September 2 to coincide with the 4th death anniversary of YSR and tour the 13 districts of Seemandhra to express solidarity with the people of the region and highlighting the party stand of demanding status quo if equal justice cannot be meted out to all regions.

“After paying tributes to YSR at Idupulapaya, Sharmila will begin her Yatra from Tirupati where she will address a public meeting along with other leaders to highlight the unilateral stand of the Congress and opportunist policies of TDP,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Friday. Her Bus Yatra would be for a period of three to four weeks and will cover the entire Seemandhra region and further details are being worked out.

Ambati appealed to the cadre to take up service programmes like blood donation, poor feeding to mark the death anniversary of YSR on September 2. “The absence of YSR is felt at every mode of turmoil the state is witnessing and even Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has recently acknowledged this fact when our Party Honorary President YS Vijaymma called on him. When YSR was at the helm of affairs, the separatist movement was on the decline as he was a votary of balanced regional growth and people of all regions were benefitted by the welfare schemes he launched,” he said.

“The present leadership is unable to handle the situation and decisions are going awry. As we are with the people, YSRCP MLAs had resigned ahead of the CWC decision and our MP and Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Vijayamma had also quit demanding that there should be equal justice to both the regions,” Ambati said.

YS Vijayamma went on fast at Guntur which was foiled and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s fast has entered the sixth day. “On the other hand, the main opposition party leader N Chandrababu Naidu has given unconditional nod to bifurcate the state and is now taking up a Bus Yatra to belittle the movement. The person who estimated the cost of division at Rs 4 to 5 lakh crores is now starting ‘Self Respect Yatra’. He should first spell out his stand on the issue before he embarks on such Yatra,” he said.

“I also condemn the police highhandedness at Osmania Hospital, where party cadre and fans of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy have come in large number in an anxiety to know about his health condition,” he said. INN
