Divisional Railway User’s Consultative Committee meeting held

Hyderabad, August 23 : The 53rd Divisional Railway User’s Consultative Committee meeting of Hyderabad Division, South Central Railway, was held at Hyderabad Bhavan in Secunderabad here on Friday under the chairmanship of Rakesh Aron, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad.

M Krishna, Secretary and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, B S K Raj Kumar, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and other Branch Officers of Hyderabad Division were also present. Out of 16 nominated members, 11 members attended the DRUCC Meeting.

In his welcome address, the Chairman highlighted the performance of the Division during the year 2013-14 (till July) and Improvements made in Passenger services like stoppage of trains, extension of trains at stations, introduction of new trains as announced in the Railway Budget, running of special trains, appointment of Jhansadharan Ticket Booking Service at stations, provision of Escalators at Kacheguda, etc., He also elucidated the various important passenger amenity work completed and in progress at stations.

The members expressed their satisfaction and appreciation over the improvements made at stations and for introduction of additional trains, extension of trains, stoppages at stations, running of special trains etc. The members requested for introduction of new trains, Change of timings of certain trains, Provision of Automatic Ticket Vending Machines at certain non-suburban stations, stoppage for long distance trains at stations, improvement to cleanliness at stations and trains, speeding up of trains on Nizamabad – Bodhan Branch line, provision of additional shifts in PRS counters, enhancing security of Physically challenged passengers by trains etc. The chairman assured the members that their suggestions/representations would be examined within the guidelines/norms in force and action would be taken accordingly.
