Telangana: Four ministers quit cabinet

Hyderabad, Aug 1: Four ministers from Seemandhra region have resigned from the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday night.

Although Infrastructure Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has sent his resignation in the evening itself, three other ministers – TG Venkatesh, Kasu Krishna Reddy and Erasu Pratap Reddy resigned after the ministers from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions held three-hour long meeting with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at him camp office on Thursday night.

According to sources, the Seemandhra ministers were divided over giving mass resignation. Minister S Sailajanath admitted that there was no unanimity on the future course of action to be taken by the Seemandhra ministers. However, he said a meeting of ministers and elected representatives from the region would be convened on August 3 to take a final decision.
