50% of H-TRIMS Project completed: GHMC

Hyderabad, June 25 : GHMC Commissioner M T Krishna Babu has informed that 50 per cent of the H-TRIMS project (Hyderabad Traffic Integrated Management System) works have been completed and the project is on testing phase.

The Commissioner held a coordination meeting for smooth functioning of H-TRIMS project along with Additional Commissioner (Traffic) IPS Amith Garg. The Commissioner has informed that a work is paralelly going on to remotely monitor the signals and directed Engineer-in-Chief of GHMC to set up an Engineering division for junction improvements.

The Commissioner has informed that as a part of H-TRIMS Project 221 junctions have been identified for improvement and directed Chief General Manager, APCPDCL to provide individual meters to the 100 odd junctions. He has directed the BEL to complete the recarpeting works properly soon after completion of their work and further directed BEL to take up the responsibility when the works are allotted to some service provider.

He has directed the GHMC officials to chop the advertisement portion above the traffic umbrellas which are distracting the public from traffic signals and suggested to relocate them. He further directed to come up with a standardize design without any advertisement.

While discussing the issue of informative Signages, the ASCI has suggested to put up 2 language Signages for which the Commissioner asked them to study the feasibility of placing 3 language Signages in (English, Telugu and Urdu) to put up in entire Hyderabad City.

In addition to the existing H-TRIMS Project the Commissioner has instructed the BEL to do a feasibility study for Pedestrian Pelican crossing project between Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Mehidipatnam to HICC, Madhapur in coordination with Traffic Police. He further instructed BEL to give a demonstration of Pedestrain Pelican Crossing in front of Care Banjara Hospital in 2 weeks time. He further informed that a robost system be designed with cameras to capture the violators and table-top zebra crossing in front of hospitals and schools.

Additional Commissioner (Traffic & Transport) IAS D. Ronald Rose, DCP, IPS Syam Sunder, Sri Ram Krishna, Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh, Chief Engineer K Suresh Kumar and other senior officials from GHMC and Police Department have participated in the review meeting. INN
