City Police beef up security for December 6

Hyderabad, Dec 4 : City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Tuesday sought people’s cooperation in maintaining peace and law and order in the city in view of 20th anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6.

Talking to reporters after holding meeting with the members of Peace Committee at Old Commissioner’s Office at Purani Haveli here, the Commissioner said that the city, especially the South Zone, has been completely peaceful. However, he said as a confidence building measure, elaborate arrangements were being made in view of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on December 6.

The anniversary is being observed every year and therefore, like previous years, police bandobust is being made across the city, specially the South Zone, the Commissioner said. He did not give any specific details about the deployment of forces although he said that about 30 to 40 platoons of Rapid Action Force would be on duty to maintain peace. While stating that the situation has been completely peaceful and there was nothing to worry, he appealed to the people not to believe or spread rumours.
